Higher Education Announces on 66 Iraqi Public & Private Universities Obtain Top Score in UI Greenmetrics

Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced that sixty-six Iraqi public and private universities and colleges obtained top score in the new edition of UI Greenmetrics, 2021 for World University Rankings.

Higher Education reviewed that the edition for 2021 (https://greenmetric.ui.ac.id/rankings/overall-rankings-2021) obtained nine hundred and fifty-six score of educational institutions in the world and Iraqi universities obtained sixty-six score among the institutions in global competition comparing with 2020, which included only sixty universities.

Higher Education demonstrated that the UI Greenmetrics ranking is based on infrastructure standards by (15%), energy and climate change by (21%), waste by (18%), water by (10%), transportation by (18%), education and research by (18%), as well as sustainability, environment, green spaces and energy consumption.

It is worth mentioning that the University of Babylon topped the Iraqi universities in this ranking with the score124 globally, as well as the Iraqi public and private universities and colleges obtained top score in competition of (The Times) ranking in which there are currently four universities, (QS) ranking in which there are five universities, (Scimago) ranking in which there are twenty-two institutions, (Greenmetric) ranking in which sixty-six Iraqi university and college were scored, URAP ranking, in which four Iraqi universities were scored, Webometrics ranking, which eighty-two Iraqi universities and colleges were scored, while the scientific research index in the global publishing websites reviewed that Iraq ranked forty-fifth globally, sixth in the Middle East and third in the Arab world.
