This maintenance unit is considered one of the oldest departments of the Computer Center. It began working with it at the beginning of the establishment of the center, and it carried out periodic maintenance operations for the mainframe calculator and the terminals located in annexes distributed in various places in the University of Basra, as well as the card-punching machines. Since then, it has been a division Maintenance is one of the prominent and necessary sections to maintain and continue the work, and the tasks of maintaining and following up on Internet malfunctions have also been added to it. The maintenance unit staff consists of engineers in the specializations of electronic, communications, and computer engineering. As for the activities and contributions of this division, they can be summarized as follows:

- Carrying out maintenance and repair operations on computers and all their accessories when referred to this office
- Unity of all university departments, colleges and centers.
- Inspecting the devices received by the center and verifying their specifications.
- Follow up on the repair of computers during the warranty period with representatives of the supplying companies.
- Holding initial and advanced courses in computer maintenance and accessories.
- Follow up on the computer laboratories in the computer center and make the necessary updates to the computers.
- Maintenance of Internet lines.
