Iraq won an important competitive position in the Global Knowledge Index for the year 2021, which was launched in its fifth edition by the United Nations Development Program and Mohammed bin Rashid Knowledge Foundation.
According to the approved indicators (https://www.knowledge4all.com/country-profile?CountryId=3), the higher education sector ranked 66th globally, with a score of 47.6, which is the highest evaluation of the Iraqi state sectors related to knowledge.
The Global Knowledge Index ranks countries by evaluating their knowledge-related sectors according to seven main indicators: pre-university education 15%, technical training and education 15%, higher education 15%, research development and innovation 15%, information and communication technology 15%, economy 15%, and the enabling environment 10%.
It is worth mentioning that this indicator relies in collecting its data and information on more than 40 unbiased institutions and global databases such as UNESCO, the World Bank, the Economic Cooperation Organization, the International Labor Organization and other organizations.
