Under the patronage of the Chancellor of the University of Basrah, Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, the Information Technology and Communication Center and the supporting staff established an optical cable network at the Karmat Ali Colleges campus.

The director of Information Technology and Communication Center, University of Basrah Mr. Kayan Abdul Aziz Mutlaq said that The University of Basrah began establishing and installing an optical cable network on Karmat Ali Colleges campus in order to link all the university’s institutions with a secure internal ground network in addition to the existing wireless network to secure the university’s need for the Internet for electronic and integrated education, as well as to operate the rest of the electronic systems at the university in line with electronic development and to ensure security Cyber in university systems.

The work included preparing the ground to lay the cable using mechanisms in accordance with the approved international specifications and the accompanying welding, burial, and casting work along the cable path.
