The President of the University of Basra, Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, met with the Dean of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, Dr. Salma Abdel-Baqi Mahmoud, the Director of the Classifications Division at the University of Basrah, Dr. Hussain Ghati’ Abdel-Sada, and the director of the website division, Mr. Hussein Jassim Muhammad.

The meeting, which was held in the College of Computer Science and Information Technology at the University of Basra, aims to discuss the availability of international classification standards for websites on the university's website.

The meeting reviewed the readiness of the university's website and the availability of human and technical capabilities to compete in the global rankings of websites.

The meeting came out with several decisions, the most important of which is to provide the website section with a specialized cadre to work on developing the university’s website, ensuring its sustainability, continuity, support with software, and achieving website quality standards in order to keep pace with technological development and to make it able to compete with universities in the global rankings of websites and occupy advanced positions.
