Higher Education Announces Iraqi Universities & Colleges Obtain Top Scores in Webometrics

Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced that eighty-two Iraqi public and private universities are competing in the Webometrics Ranking in the second half for the academic year 2021.

Higher Education reviewed that according to the website (http://www.webometrics.info/en/Asia/Iraq ), of July 2021 edition highlighted an increase in the number of Iraqi universities and colleges in the Webometrics reaching eighty-two public and private universities and colleges compared to the January edition of 2021, which included 79 universities and colleges.

Higher Education added that University of Baghdad obtained the top score among Iraqi public and private universities and the score (1838) globally, Al-Mustansiriyah University obtained the second score locally and the score (2656) globally and University of Kufa obtained the third score locally and the score (2814) globally.

It is worth mentioning that the Webometrics Ranking of the Higher Center for Scientific Research in Spain issued every half-year and depended on indicators that evaluate the virtual presence of universities via their websites, indicating that clarity by (50%), transparency by (10%) and strength and excellence of researches by (40%).
