The University of Basrah adopted the Intranet in all its departments, as well as adopting the archive and central mail program in its dealings, which was designed by the Information Technology and Communications Center at the university, in a meeting chaired by the President of the University, Dr. Saad Shahin Hammadi, the administrative assistant and the directors of the concerned departments.
 

The meeting came out with recommendations, including holding specialized workshops for all university formations to explain these new systems and the distribution of access rights to the systems.
